Mexican documentary photographer, journalist and educator focused on issues of gender and human rights. Her work focuses on exploring social boundaries and rehistorizing the body in a situated way. Through her images she reflects on gender culture, violence, trauma and coloniality.

Her work has been published in magazines, print and digital media such as; The New York Times, The Guardian, The Women's Media Center, The HuffPost, El País, Cuartoscuro, Pie de Página, La Jornada, and Lado B, among others. She has collaborated with UN offices and various civil society organizations. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in Mexico and in cities such as New York, Tehran, Isfahan, Rome, Guayaquil, Kota Kinabalu, Valparaiso, and London. Greta is part of the Women Photograph Advisory Committee. She is also part of SheSource, a panel of experts on gender issues from the Women's Media Center and has a Master's degree in Feminist Studies.

At the beginning of 2022, she was shortlisted for the International Women In Photo Association Contest in the solidarity category.

In December 2021, she was selected to be part of Women Photograph's 2021 Year in Pictures catalogue. Likewise, she won the silver medal at the AsisaFoto International Photography Contest. In November she won the Women in the Territory contest of the Territorial Development Secretariat and in October she was the winner in the Photography Contest on Midwifery and Traditional Medicine of the General Directorate of Popular Cultures. In September of that year, she was selected as a fellow of the Mexican government's Creation Support System to be part of the Young Creators program. In June her work was selected as a finalist in the Times of Pandemic contest of the Cuartoscuro magazine and in the summer of that year she participated as a tutor in the artistic and photographic residence of the War-Mi collective in Latin America. In May, she was selected as a Climate Tracker fellow to produce an environmental story. In January 2021, she was a finalist in “This is Gender 50/50 Global Health” Photo Contest.

In late 2020, she was awarded the National Geographic COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Journalists. Similarly, her work was recognized with third place in the "Working Women'' photography contest organized by the Secretariat of Popular Cultures. In October she won the 23rd Latin American Documentary Photography Contest "The Works and the Days" in the Working Woman category. In the summer of 2020, she was nominated for the 6x6 Global Talent Program of the World Press Photo and selected as a finalist in the Women Photographt + Getty Images Grant. In 2019 Greta was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Marilyn Stafford Photo Reportage Award. That same year she was part of the XXXII generation of the Eddie Adams Workshop, and her work was selected in the 2019 National Photo Contest "Human Rights". In May, she was selected as a Fellow of the International Women's Media Fund to participate in the “Adelante” Program in Latin America. And in February, she was selected as a finalist in the "XI Edition of the IILA-Photography Prize" on Gender Equality.

In the summer of 2018, she was awarded a scholarship by the Bob and Diane Fund to attend the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in Calcutta, India. That same year, she was part of the selection for the contest "The Strength of Women in the Face of Disappearances in Mexico". And in 2017 of the International Photography Contest "Diversity and Peace".
